Kyra Minturn
Kyraminturn Sedgwick was born August 19, 1965. She is an American actor and producer. Her most well-known part is as Deputy Chief Brenda Leigh Johnson, on TNT's crime series The Closer. Sedgwick was awarded a Golden Globe Award and an Emmy Award for her portrayal as Johnson in 2007. After the conclusion of the seventh season, the show was canceled on August 13, 2012. Sedgwick is also famous for her role in the show as Madeline Wuntch on the sitcom Brooklyn Nine-Nine. Sedgwick was nominated to the Golden Globe award in 1995 for her performance in Something to Talk About. Sedgwick's other roles include Oliver Stone's Born to the Fourth of July (1989) as well as Cameron Crowe's solos (1992), Heart and Souls(93), Phenomenon (1996), What's Cooking (2000) and Secondhand Lions (2003). The Game Plan (2007) and The Possession (2012). Sedgwick is the daughter of Patricia Rosenwald, an educator, family therapist, venture capitalist as well as Henry Dwight Sedgwick VII Speech Therapist. Her mother was Jewish, was of English and Episcopalian descent. Sedgwick declares herself Jewish, and she has stated that she is a participant in Passover seders.
